In our restaurant near Bolzano in Meltina the guests enjoy delicious South Tyrolean and Italian specialties.
The typical South Tyrolean is known as a welcoming but somewhat suspicious breed who tries to maintain his German identity. As regards cookery, however, he has fortunately failed to resist the Italian influence – hardly surprising given the fabulous ideas that Italian cuisine has to offer.
South Tyrol today can offer something to delight every gourmet’s palate: from typical Knödel (dumplings) and Schlutzkrapfen (stuffed pasta pockets) to polenta and sweet treats such as tiramisù or our local fritters.
In our restaurant in Bolzano and surroundings the aim is to rediscover local and traditional dishes, reworking and adapting them to contemporary tastes, while adding elements of Italian and international cuisine. The results of our efforts can not only be seen, but also relished with a glass of wine from our cellar in the ambience of our Restaurant Zum Löwen near Bolzano in Meltina.
